What does YourCVTool cost?
YourCVTool uses a simple credit system instead of confusing feature tiers. Building a resume in the editor is always free — saving, PDF export, share links, and every AI action (e.g. phrasing suggestions or cover letter text) require a plan. Three options are available: Starter for a one-time €4.99 for 7 days, Standard for €19.99 per month, and Premium for €39.99 per month. Every plan can be canceled anytime in your account settings, with no phone call and no waiting period.

How does the credit system work?
Instead of selling you a separate tier for every single feature, YourCVTool uses one unified credit balance. Every AI action costs a fixed price: 10 credits for phrasing suggestions, text optimization, AI summaries, cover letter drafts, or a complete application analysis against a job posting. Only an AI application photo costs 20 credits, because image generation is more compute-intensive. This means you always know exactly what an action costs before you use it — no hidden pricing tiers and no surprises on your bill.

Payment security & data privacy
All payments run through Stripe, one of the world's largest and most strictly regulated payment providers. Your credit card details are never stored on our servers — Stripe processes them directly according to the PCI-DSS standard. Your resume and cover letter content stays in your account and is processed according to GDPR principles; details can be found in our privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions about billing & cancellation
When is my payment charged?
For the Starter plan, the amount is charged once at the time of purchase. For Standard and Premium, the charge happens monthly on the same calendar day as your initial purchase, at the start of each new period.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes. After every payment, you automatically receive an invoice showing VAT by email, and it's also available in your account settings.
What happens to my data after I cancel?
Your saved resumes and cover letters are preserved and can still be exported as a PDF. Without an active plan, saving, new AI actions, and share links are paused until you choose a plan again.

What payment methods are accepted?
We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our payment provider Stripe. Prices are final — as a small business under §19 UStG, no VAT is charged or shown.
Can I switch between Standard and Premium?
Yes, you can switch anytime in your account settings. When you upgrade, the difference is prorated and unlocked immediately; a downgrade takes effect at the end of the current period, so already-paid credits aren't lost.
What happens if I run out of credits?
Once your balance is used up, you can still edit resumes in the editor and export already-saved documents as a PDF. For more AI actions, you can switch to a higher plan or wait for the next refill.
